Principal's Corner

Welcome to Cartersville High School

Dear CHS family, friends, and stakeholders,

As the principal of Cartersville High School, it is my pleasure to welcome you and your family to the 2016-17 school year where we are positively working together as we pursue excellence. Our school is one full of tradition, pride, and excellence, and we accomplish this each year by setting high expectations and working collaboratively. Together with parents, staff members, and community members, we work diligently to strengthen our Purple Hurricane reputation as a distinct, rigorous, and positive learning environment.

We will continue to focus on student achievement, and we invite you to attend our school governance council meetings or communicate with one of our school governance council representatives where you can share your opinions and ideas about our school improvement plan. Our school, with your help, will create a school improvement plan that will outline the specific steps we will take to address any achievement and academic problems that have been identified.

Our students are our #1 priority, and we work hard to offer them a wide variety of opportunities.   We have many course offerings at CHS including AP courses in Art, English, Math, Music, Science, Social Studies, and Spanish. We also have a joint enrollment Aeronautics Program with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University here on our campus. From an advisement program focused on life and leadership skills to athletics, arts, and club programs to student tutorial programs, we have many opportunities for our students to be involved, grow, and excel in all areas of academics, athletics, and arts during their Cartersville High School experience.

At CHS, we are committed to providing a quality instruction by a skilled, student-centered faculty and staff, where 100% of our certified employees are highly qualified. We set high expectations for our students in all aspects of their school experience, and we provide support systems to assure they are met. Our desire is to see all students accomplish mastery in their courses.

Thank you again for visiting our website. You will see that we are intentionally focused on our future while we continue to honor the traditions of our past. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can ever be of assistance. Thank you for your continued support of our school…you are the reason for our success.

Go Canes!

Respectfully,

Dr. Marc R. Feuerbach, Principal
